Overpronation

(2 discussions)

I wonder if you could help me.
I have just had my feet tested and I have been told by my local gym that I overpronate, I have also bought some new trainers to help with this problem, however the pain under my arch is still occurring when running.
I also have the same problem if I wear flat shoes.
It is getting to the point where sometimes in the morning my arches hurt.
Do you think I need to stop running altogether?Hope you can help.

I recommend you see a podiatrist and discuss custom made orthotics. These are made for your feet alone. There is no shoe that will fit your foot perfectly and give you what you are wanting. Good luck. Vivian A DPM

my name is malcolm and I am a runner . I had planter fascitis and its almost gone now due to treatment. during my treatment I was still doing some running, but a lighter workload. now the planter fascitis is mainly healed other parts of my ankle are hurting and my foot allignment seems unusual. what I meen is that my foot seems as though its turning inward when I’m running and although I am now competing I don’t feel comletely comfortable. my style seems to have changed due to my discomfort. I was told by some trainers that my foot positioninig changed to take the pressure off my injury can you help me or tell me what could be wrong or what I need to do to helpp it. thank you, malcolm.
