Nerve damage

I wrote several weeks back regarding a foot injury I incured about 8 weeks ago slipping the wrong way on a staircase.
I have been in an aircast for 5 weeks and recently finally had my podiatrist order an MRI. The results came back today showing no visible damage. Its in the Planter facistis(sp) area of my foot where the pain lies.
The aircast has definitly helped and I am glad to see there is no major damage per the MRI.My Podiatrist said that the burning stingling sensation that I am feeling alot of is more than likely due to nerve damage.
He gave me exercises to do and said take the boot off and start walking again and kind of blew off the nerve damage other than saying it could take yrs to totally heal.
I guess my question to you is, is there anything I can do to heal the nerve other than just live with it?…
I am very active and have always exercised regularly so this is really bothering me to think I may never be totally able to run normally for a long time to come.
He has not mentioned a neurologist or phyical therapy of any kind other than the 2 exercises he gave me to do on my own. Any guidence you could give me would be much appreciated.

Knee movement

I have been working out for nearly 5 years now. Within the last month when I am on the leg curl machine I have noticed when my legs are coming back up from the curl, my left knee moves around, where as the right knee stays normal. There is no pain at all, but the movement is new and it doesn’t feel normal. Does anyone know what it might be?

Son with foot drop, options needed

Hi,
My 18 y.o. son has a bad motocross wreck where he broke hid tib/fib and femur. He developed compartment syndrome which went untreated and had a lot of muscle debridment and peroneal nerve damage. He was left with foot drop and ankle instability due to nerve damage. he has good planar flex and are looking at bracing options. We want something very low profile, perhaps hinged. What has been tried so far (custom moulded thermo plastic) is just to stiff and is like fusing the ankle. Any options??? It also needs to be durable. Thanks

Now three years later I play rugby, my shoulder pops out sometimes and it still hurts. I want to continue to play rugby and I don’t want to have to get surgery. Hyperextended, sprained ring finger

It has been almost 6 weeks since I fell and hyperextended the ring finger on my left hand. An ex-ray, four weeks following the injury, indicated no break.
I was told to ice the finger, take antiinflamatories, and use a squeeze ball to exercise the hand and finger. The ice causes almost unbearable pain, the Aleve causes major stomach pain, and manipulating putty is causing the finger to hurt more. I will continue to do these things, but I’ve always heard that if it hurts, don’t do it.Should I consult my physician again or continue to do the therapy? Thank you:Christi

Burning pain on top of foot

Just started this weekend with burning on top of my right foot.
Pain so bad it has caused me to limp.
I do have a bone spur in that foot but this is a different kind of pain.
The bone spur hasn’t bothered me in quite some time.
I thought stretching might help but to no avail.
