Right Foot Swollen and Very painful

(3 discussions)

I have had 2 sets of x-rays of this right foot and they showed nothing. The drs had said that I sprained all my tendons in my foot. This was 5 weeks ago I saw a slight improvement but nothing great. Now 3 days ago the foot seems to hurt just as it did when all this started. My little toe feels numb but when I touch it I can feel that. From my ankle down my foot is swollen Seems to hurt more in the arch area to my little toe and the toe next to it. Underneath this area it is very painful to touch. I can not put pressure in the area on the bottom of the foot from the ball of the foot to the arch.. On top of the arch to the on the outside of the foot it is also very painful. Also painful to a slight touch on the skin in that area. Also the arch area to me looks red. The foot is warmer than usual. Pointing my toes does not seem to hurt that much but pulling my toes towards me kills. The feeling I get in the arch area is like a burning sensation. I can not where my shoe it is too tight. The Drs gave me a medical boot to wear when I last saw them. I am really worried since I seem to not be getting better and now it is worse again.
Any thoughts what it can be will be greatly appreciated

SWOLLEN FEET after Claw Toe Surgery

(2 discussions)

Firstly, THANK YOU Dr Abrams for answering my last questions. I have had claw toe surgery about 6 weeks ago and have recently had the pins taken out. My feet are still tender and swollen. I am really concerned about the swelling since I have to travel overseas next week and my feet don’t fit into any closed shoes.
Is there anything I can do to reduce the swelling and tenderness (is this normal after the pins are taken out?) and how long will I have to go through this.
I tried to ask my orthopedic surgeon when the pins were being removed but he didn’t answer my questions.Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advanceMaya

Toenail coming off

I damaged my toe last winter walking in inappropriate boots.
Now the toenail has totally separated from the toe on one side and across the base.
The other side is still securely attached.
Should I have it removed to avoid the risk of tearing it off?
What is involved?
How long is recovery?

Wearing Shoes Without Socks

I do not like wearing socks therefore I hardly wear socks in my tennis shoes.
I had been wearing my tennis shoes without socks most of my life. I never get blisters on my feet, and during the Winter time, my feet never freeze. (However, they stink!) Are my feet used to wearing shoes without socks?

Hi! I’m not sure what the problem is with my foot! About two week ago it started itching on the bottom in front of my arch, a few days ago the top of the foot behind my toes started hurting, now today my ankle is aching like a sprain. The bottom is still itching and the top still hurts also! Do you have any ideas???

Thank-You

wrist tendonitis

My daughter, a gymnast, has bilateral wrist tendonitis with orders for O.T./P.T. We just started seeing a hand therapist who wants my daughter to rest her wrists for the second week ( no gymnastics using wrist ).
My daughter is obviously upset she can’t work out. What is the usual course for therapy – my impression from our therapist is rest (amount of time to be determined) and then exercises to strenghten before returning to gymnastics.
