Chronic Neck Pain

I have had chronic neck pain for about 4 years now. I was a gymnast for many years so that has contributed to my pain. I am only 21 and I’ve been seeing a chiropractor for about a year now and I’ve had an MUA done and deep tissue massages, etc. I stretch everyday but the pain continues. I’ve seen two different doctors about my situation and I recently started getting tension headaches again. (I used to get tension headaches everyday for about 6 months) I thought about doing actupuncture because I am desperate for some relief. What can I do to aid my painful neck?

Scholosis

My friend has just been diagnosed with scholosis, he seems to be very unhappy. What is scholosis? Does it affect you in a significant way? He has scholosis in his lower back, and recently quit work from an environment which required a lot of heavy lifting. I hear that he’s getting better, but from time to time the pain seems to come back, does it really hurt that much to have scholosis? He’s back has hurted so much at work that he’s had to go home early, and this has persisted for more than half a year before he actually quit.

Bicep strain? tear? Treatment?

A month ago, in the process of doing an inelegant curl with a heavy bar, I experienced a slight jarring sensation in my left bicep and stopped exercising immediately. Ever since, I have felt a mild, occasionally radiating pain in my left bicep, though it sometimes disappears entirely from hour to hour, even from day to day. Range of motion is unaffected and it is not sensitive to the touch.
I apply ice twice a day and I’ve stopped doing curls, but the condition remains unchanged. (Curiously, when I do pushups, it seems to banish for the pain for some time afterwards!) Am I describing a bicep strain? A tear? An injured tendon? And is there some value in doing pushups as a form of physical therapy? Are there other helpful exercises to speed healing?

Bloody fluid under big toe nail

(2 discussions)

About five days ago I developed pain under the nails of my big toe on both feet.
I did not have any kind of injury.
There is a little bruise at the base of my left toenail with a little redness.
Last night a bloody fluid started seeping out from the nail on my right foot and it is still leaking this morning.
I am currently being worked up for inflammatory osteoarthritis of the hands and feet and have considerable discomfort at the moment but I don’t know if this is related.

Knee pain and soreness

(3 discussions)

Hi, I am a teenage tennis player. I am in my early teens. I have been playing tennis for 3 yrs now. I also did gymnastics for about 4 yrs befor I started tennis. I am now experiencing severe soreness below my knee at my upper shin. Whenever I stand up or run or walk I experience soreness that sometimes causes my leg to collapse me to fall down :(. I have had this soreness before near the time I ended gymnastics and started tennis. But it went away for almost 2 yrs. Now its back and its worse. I have been using a heated pad on my knee. Also, I’ve been icing it. and wrapping it up with an ACE bandage. I was told by a friend that it may be growing pains but I don’t understand why I don’t grow out of it if that is the solution. Please let me know if there is a diagnosis for me. Or an exercise that I can do to help me feel better. I love tennis too much to give it up for a knee injury. Thanks
