pain after bunionectomy

I am a high school student and I underwnet a bunionectomy three months ago in July. I ran cross country this fall without pain, but recently I have experienced pain in my right (bunion) foot when walking for short distances as well as running. There is also a signifigant bump on the side of my foot where the bunion once was. The bump is hard like bone tissue. I also have concerns about the range of motion in my big toe. Compared to my left foot, the range of motion of my right big toe is about 10-15 degrees less in both up and down directions. Should I be concerned with any of these problems? Could the pain be blamed on my shoes getting older?

You need to return to the doctor who did your surgery. A follow up x-ray may be indicated for comparison. Go from there and good luck.
