pain in hip area

(3 discussions)

I’m 43 and having sharp, sudden pains in my left hip area with any sudden movement of my left foot, leg or hip to the left.
Pulling on pants, getting out of vehicles, etc. is painful.
My primary physician said xrays showed bone spurs.
My orthopedic dr. said no, ordered an MRI and says I have multiple hemoragic cysts on my left ovary.
My GYN says the ultrasound shows nothing to be alarmed about (even though I have a history of overian cancer in my famiy) and thinks my pain is unrelated to the cysts. Now I’m back to square one? Can sciatica cause sudden pain with certain movements in this area? Any advice?
I feel I’m getting the run-around.

HI MY NAME IS FRANCYNE AND I WAS READING SOMETHING POSTED ABOUT PAIN IN THE LEG AND HIP AREA WHICH THE WRITER DESCRIBED AS COMING FROM A HEMORAGIC CYST. I AM GOING THROUGH THE SAME KIND OF PAIN MYSELF AND I CANT FOR THE LIFE OF ME FIGURE OUT WHERE ITS COMING FROM.. NOW THAT I READ HER STORY IT SEEMS THAT IT IS COMING FROM THE CYST.. I TOO HAVE HEMOGRAPHIC CYSTS ON MY LEFT OVARY AND MY RIGHT. I HAD AN XRAY AND IT SHOWED NOTHING IN THE HIP AND LEG AREA… BUT AS I PAY ATTENTION TO MY MENSTRUAL CYLCES I REALIZE IM GETTING THIS TERRIBLE GROIN/LEG/HIP PAIN DURING OVULATION DEPENDING WHICH SIDE THE CYST IS ON..IF ANYONE CAN LEAD ME TO SOME INFORMATION CONCERNING THIS MATTER I WOULD TRULY APPRECIATE IT.. THE ARTICLE WAS FROM A GIRL NAMED GRACE AND ON NOVEMBER 25TH
    THANKS [email protected]

I also just found out I have a hemographic cyst on my right ovary, and the cause of it was intense, sharp pains on my lower right abdomen. We initially thought it was appendicitis because it hurt so bad. I’ve been through 2 blood tests, a urine test, xrays, a cat scan, an ultra sound, and now I’m heading to an ob-gyn appointment. I’m finding it hard to find any information on these types of cysts. Anyone know anything???
