Pain in my deltoid

(3 discussions)

Dear Doctor, for the past month or so now Iwhenever I workout my tricept with behind the back excercises, my left deltiod gives me a great deal of pain. I do my best to stretch before every workout but no matter what I still cannot get rid of the pain. SHould I see my personal Doctor about this? Maybe even getting a cortozone shot?

First off we are not doctors….we are physical therapist. Secondly, any behind the neck exercises with weights puts a great deal of stress on the shoulder. Give those exercises a rest for a couple of weeks then gradually start out with lighter weights working out the triceps in a different way…like leaning on bench, elbow at side and extending the arm back straightening out the elbow, or using a tricep pulldown machine.

: Dear Doctor, for the past 2weeks since I pitched in a baseball game. my tricept and bicepts is real soar and tight. it gets soar when I try to raise it and put on deoderant. I can’t throw a ball 90 feet now.. it feels fine, but when I reach back to throw a ball it tightens up very quickly.. whats wrong..its going on 3 weeks and stopped pitching.
