Your question is not specific enough as to where the pain is. I have personally never used a MRI to diagnose a neurome. The cost is more expensive than the surgery. I have and do use my diagnostic ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis, but I always start with my clinical judgement and listen to what the symptoms are. A nuclear scan would not be helpful as it really is more useful for bone problems.
