Pain Level PT

I am undergoing PT as I recover from a broken right calcaneous (heel).
The PT for my foot/ankle is going well.
My right knee, however, would not fully straighten.
The PT has tried to make it straighten by holding the leg down and trying to press the muscle to the table.
This is EXTREMELY painful. Ortho says no fluid/soft tissue damage..only lack of use.
Is this approach/pain level unavoidable/recommended??? Thanks in advance for help.

Your hamstrings are probably lit up. Hamstring stretch like crazy, long hold, no bounce. There’s a nifty little unit out there that probably cost 5 bucks to make but they sell it for 150 that is just a built up place to put your foot sitting on a long flat piece with two straps. You cinch your knee down and let it stretch. It’s not comfortable. You could try some patella mobs, wiggle your knee cap, to make sure it’s not tight. Strengthen your quads. good luck
