Pain on outside of small toe metatarsel from Cycling
I ride a road bicycle with clip pedals (Look) and cycling shoes (Nike) with a molded base and 3 Velcro straps for adjustment.
After riding for only 5-10 minutes, a pain starts on the outside of each foot.
After riding 30+ minutes, the pain is fairly intense and I cannot walk on it after dismounting. If I continually flex the foot while riding, the pain lessens.
The really weird thing is that 10 minutes after riding I have no symptoms!
I am thinking it is because the shoes are too narrow but I have never experienced this with soccer cleats, golf shoes, tennis shoes or dress shoes so I thought a post might bring some new info.
I have had cycling shoes that DID NOT hurt, but they are no longer made.
Those were more adjustable, with laces and Velcro straps.Any ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks!

I think I figured it out. I am pressing down on the outside of my foot more than the ball. I need to “cant” the shoes or get insteps.I’ll let ya know how it goes . . .
