pain top of left foot

I have a great dane who jumped on the bed and caught my foot.
several days later while I was walking a felt an ache on the top of my left foot.
it is on the left side of the left foot quite near the top where the ankel bone is just a smichen to the right of where the ankel bone curves.
I can not walk on my foot for very long or it begins to ache.
it is right near where a big vein runs on the top of my foot to the very left of that vein the tissue has puffed up.
it about as big as a half-dollar.
it kinda like the blood vessel there has puffed up.
like when they are trying to put an iv in your arm or something and something goes wrong so your tissue around there puffs up.
I have had this pain for 2 weeks now.
I went to the doctor and they took an x-ray but could find no facture.
I had to go to the emergency room cause my primary care doctor was on vacation.
I waited a week but the pain did not go away so that is why I went to the emergency room.
they just treated as a sprained ankel and told me to ice pack it and alleviate it.
it has been 4 days since that time and my foot still hurts.
they said if it swell up or became discolored to come back in.
it has never swelled and been discolored even when it first started hurting.
just the pain and that strange puffed up part by that big vein on the top of my foot. What is up here.
I thought maybe I bruised the inside tissue or something???

A MRI might be helpful. You might want to see a podiatrist.
