Pain under left shoulder blade

I have had very uncomfortable pain under my left shoulder blade for over a week now and the pain doesn’t seem to be going away could you give me some advice on how to cure this?

I have been haveing a really painful burning sensation under my left shoulder blade for about 2 weeks now. It starts out as a burning feeling and then really turns into a very painful burning sensation. When you touch the spot it actually feels like I have been sunburned.Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Have no insurance so can’t go to doc.

Tis pain is very uncomfortable, when leaning over table, or leaning over key board on computersome times I feel as is my breath will go away but the pain itself is hard & very uncomfortable. thank you….Sarah

I have had left shoulder pain and pain that runs along the left “collar” bone also. The doctor said it was probably oste-arthritis. Three months later my left shoulder blade is now also hurting. It all seems to run down my left arm with tingling accompaning the pain.

My pain under shoulder blade has been bothering me for years now. Going to the emergency room and been given pain killers does not take or ease the pain. My doctors don’t know. One thought that maybe a blood clot. One thought it was cause by my bra. I’m wouldering if there is common denomonator with people with this pain. I have only one kidney and anemic. Let me know what you think.

I have pain under my left shoulder blade so bad that I can’t take a deep breath, I buy icy hot patches and put on the spot and I even take pain medicine for fibromyalgia, and you’d think with all the pain medicine I take for my back and right leg it would help the pain under my left shoulder blade but it doesn’t. I was shocked when I put in pain under shoulder blade on the google search engine and found remarks from others with this problem. I’m not sure who I’m sending this email to but could someone respond to me with any information that could be helpful. Thanks

Last year I had a bout of intense pain under my left shoulder blade. After two epidural nerve block injections, the pain went away. This year, almost to the week, the same excruciating pain is back? What possible causes/treatments are there available?

For several months I have been experiencing pain behind my left shoulder pain and shoulder. I can not sleep at night as I wake with the pain. I have limited ability in lifting my arm and can not put my arm behind my back. It aches all the time accompanied with shooting pains down my left arm ( like a spasm) when when I’m not moving it. I also am experiencing pains in the joints of my left hand. If I do try movement of my arm I get shooting pains that buckle me over. I have tried anti-flammitorys but they have not helped. I have had an xray and ultrasound that have shown nothing. My doctor thinks that I have frozen shoulder. I have tried laser and massage. I am seeing a chiropraticor who is forcing movement. It is very painful and doesn’t seem to be helping me. I am taking Tenyol three’s all the time. Please help me. What else can I do or what test do you suggest. (Even typing this note is causing pain in my upper left arm.

I’ve been having pain under my left shoulder blade, radiating through my left arm, and also feel a burning sensation over my left shoulder blade for over a year now. I went to the doctor who did x-rayd, eco-cardiogram and found nothing. Finally the doctor said it might be in my mind. I was embarassed to go back to the doctor until now that I found that there others with similar pain.

I have had terrible pain in my left shoulder blade that sometimes feels like it is causing a tightening feeling in my left arm to my elbow. It is intensified when I tilt my head forward towards the right just a little. I have issues with my neck which are 9 years old. I was in a car accident and got whip-lashed, my neck in introverted….not sure if that is the best way to describe it. Anyway in June I fell hard 2 different times and this pain wasn’t like this until August. I worry that I mamy be having a heart attack because I have read where that is a primary symptom, but would it be intensified (if it is my heart) when I til my head forward a little to the right????

Is anyone actually out there to answer these questions? I just started having pain in my back, under my left shoulder blade. It is an acute pain, and seems to come from inside my body. It only lasts a few seconds but hurts bad enough that my back arches every time it happens. I understand that it could be an internal organ. I have enough common sense to know that if it persists then I need to see an MD, but what I want to know is – what possible causes are there for this type of pain? Everywhere I’ve looked says “it could be your stomach” or “it could be your lungs,” but WHAT ABOUT my stomach or my lungs??? Can anyone provide additional information?

My problem started a year ago with pain around the left elbow area. It then spread to pain in the left shoulder with left arm burning sensation. Usually alleviated by relaxation.However I now get pain on waking around the centre of the chest that gradually moves to around and usually under the left shoulder blade. I have had steroid injections in the arm that did not help, but as the condition is getting worse and spreading to other areas have you any advice.

I have been dealing with burning pain under my left shoulder for about a year. Nothing really helps I have tried everything everyone else has, I do wish someone would responde to all of us who are suffering! Is there a doctor out there anywhere with some suggestion?

I have been having some serious pain under my left shoulder blade. I don’t know what has caused I left weights and work out all the time in the military, but I can’t recall injuring it. It usually gets worse when I run, or when I try to go to sleep, or if i’m just sitting still. When I get up and walk around its bearable. I was thinking it could be like a posture thing but i’m not sure. Do you have any suggestions?

This pain under my left shoulder blade feels like someone has stuck an ice pick in there at times. Sleeping laying down is impossible, I have to sleep in a chair with a heating pad. I have tried message therapy but that is not helping.
Does anyone have any answers to this, or relieffor this pain?

I’ve been living with severe pain under my left shoulder blade for years now. My doctor advised against surgery because of the proximity of the site to my heart. Pain relief medications are ineffective against this pain. When I move the left shoulder blade, there is a grinding sound, like cartilage grinding against cartilage/bone.

I have pain burning under my left shoulder blade and back. if I rest it will be okay. but I have children at home. I have try ultram and tyleonal together doest work. Doctor is concern about give any pain medcine What could be causing the pain and burning.

I have severe pain in the area of my left shoulder blade on the upper side toward the spine. I did go to the doctor and he thought it was a strained muscle under my shoulder blade, but after 4 weeks the pain is getting worse. I am calling the doctor again today because the pain is overwhelming. Is this a common symptom for some specific diseases(s).

I have had pain under left shoulder blade for six months. It started after a car wreake.its been ongoing and getting more painful. doctors think its just muscle pain but it does not feel like muscle. every now and again I get a pain in my cheast. The left side. any info would be greatly appreciated.

Every now and then I get a stabbing pain under my left shoulder blade. Sometimes this lasts, on and off, for anything between 1 hour and all day. I have been putting ibuprofen gel on but does not seem to help. It makes you afraid to move in case that stabbing pain hits again. This morning I actualy awoke with this stabbing pain!

For the past few weeks, I have had an ache under my left shoulder blade. It started around Thanksgiving (after standing for long periods two days in a row cooking) It has occurred off and on since then—several days without anything–then an ache for a couple of days. Activity makes it better. It doesn’t hurt at all at night. I have no problem sleeping. It will bother me after sitting in one place for a long time. It is an annoying ache—not a pain. I don’t find that Ibuprophen helps. I swan quite a bit when away recently, and it didn’t hurt at all?????

I have experienced pain under my left shoulder blade for about 4 days. If I move a certain way I get a very sharp pain that feels as if I’m being stuck with a very sharp object.

I have a peculier problem. I am a male and 70 years of age. On normal standing podsition I suddenly feel something moving inside my veins and it is like mild electric shock which is traveling up to my left neck side. I am not able to explain the feeling. It is a sort of numbness but vanishes as soon as I change my postuer. Only when the laft arm is raised it happens. Slowly a stifness develops. I have no hart problem or BP.
Please explain what to do?

for the last 2-3 weeks I have had unbearable pain, sometimes stabbing pain in my left shoulder blade. I am fairly fit 53yr old and my job for last year has been delivery driver for online shopping with a major supermarket. Having never had any form of back trouble before am wondering if it is maybe just a pulled muscle from gear changing lifting etc, what do you think?

I Have had this pain problem every since I completed rad. for breast cancer. Also pain in and down my left arm mainly when I lay down for a nap or the night.
