Periformis Syndrome

During my last pregnancy I suffered the above to the extent that I was in hospital for weeks on morphine and induced a month early to ease the pain.
I was on crutches from 4 months and wearing a back support. The pain disappeared shortly after the baby was born. However, as the pain began before the baby was a great weight, I was told that it was probably nothing to do with pregnancy and more likely related to lifting and handling as I worked on a geriatric ward in hospital.
I therefore felt it safe to have another baby.
I am now four months pregnant and it has started again.
I have four young children and really don’t want to be going into hospital again or drugged up to the eyeballs. Do you have any suggestions (aside from never getting pregnant again!)?
