Peroneal Tendonitis

I have been fighting what I think is peroneal tendonitis for 9 weeks now….this is after one trip to the ED (Prednisone, got better), one trip to physician (more Prednisone / Naprosyn), now a third try with physician (Celebrex)…..Each time, it gets a little better and then something triggers pain behind lateral maleolus and down the lateral aspect of the foot with lots of pain at the base of the 5th metatarsal that makes it VERY hard to even walk…….
I’m a firefighter and am struggling to work through this. I’m getting pretty frsutrated….
Should I continue on this course or see about more aggressive therapy???
Should this be immobilized for a while?
Thanks in advance

I recommend you have someone order an MRI for further evaluation. If the tendon is torn significantly, a surgical repair may be indicated. If it is torn slightly, then immobilization may help. An MRI is what I would order next, based on your statementsGood luck.
