Physical Therapist

(2 discussions)

I am wanting to start school for physical therapy, I really want to be a personal trainer but with the economy the way it is & having to build up my client list it seems a little risky to go straight for being a personal trainer. My question is should I attend school for a physical therapist and then once I get a job go back to school to be a trainer or should I go for what I really want to do? Please any input, advice, or guidance will be greatly appreciated. Thank You. P.S. My email address was to long, it’s a “com” after the “rr”. Thank You

While working, what is a typical day for working? How many hours do you work a week/ a month? What are the best parts of your day? What is the most challenging part of your day? Do you get vacation time, a retirement plan or any extra perks? what health benefits are available to emloyees? what health and safety issues are involved in this occupation? Please and Thank you. I am planning on being a physical therapist and needed to know the following for a research paper. thank you very much.

Go for the personal trainer certification. Physical therapy is a doctoral degree now and the program I went through cost about $70,000. If you can find a physical therapist who would be willing to let you train patients in their gym that would be a great way to get instant patients who know how important it is to maintain physical fitness. If would not be monetarily beneficial for you to get the DPT degree to work in a certificate level position.
