Physical Therapy for Torn Rotator Cuff

(2 discussions)

Please advise me on the physical therapy exercises which are appropriate for recovery after microscopic surgery of a torn rotator cuff. Can you provide picture demos of the exercises also? Thank you very much.

My husband had surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff two weeks ago. We too would appreciate information on physical therapy exercises.
    Thank you.

Some years ago a surgeon, having verified torn rotator cuff with x-ray and MRI, advised against surgery: “Mr. Taylor, you are too old to fix!”- which I must accept at 80, because there was no guarantee of success, and the recovery period would be lengthy, if at all. I accept this, but, with my daily workout, I seem to constantly be reinjuring it. Somewhere I picked up a set of four exerecises to do with a light weight – but I never seem to get to the “no pain” point to institute program.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
