Pigeon Toe

My daughter, who is 11, walks almost as if she is pigeon toed without realizing it. It looks as if both here feet are lazy and go inward, almost to the point that here knees knock. She is not overweight and does not play in any sports. Could this be corrected with excercise or perhaps with chiropratic care? I do not know where to go for this answer. She knows she walks that way and can correct the step when forced to, but goes back to it after a while. Please, anyone who might have some insight in what I could do for here would be greatly appreciated.

In toe gait can be caused by several different things. Hips, knees and feet. At 11 years old, it is very difficult to cause a structural change to the problem causing this. I am not aware of any information that would suggest that chiropractic treatment could reduce this problem. Sometimes we use various devices to external rotate the limb, but usually on a youinger patient. You might take her to a podiatrist for further evaluation. Good luck.
