i stubbed my pinkie toe quite a while back. it became bruised and remained that way. I noticed today that my toe nail to more than half way coming off. I would like to understand why and what I should do about it.
Most likely, a new nail is pushing the old nail off. This is a normal process when a nail is damaged this way. If it is snagging, then clip or file it until it final comes off. It really should not hurt. If you are concerned, make an appointment with a podiatrist.
