plantar faciitis

I have plantar faciitis(sp?) and thanks to a good podiatrist I am relatively symptom free.
I use orthotics in my shoes.
They work great in my work shoes, and a structured casual shoe, but when I want to wear a tennis shoe all day, like in the summer, my feet kill my by the end of the day.
Is there a tennis shoe out there that has decent support without looking ridiculous?
Even the New Balance shoes are supportive for only a couple weeks, then seem to break down.

  1. Your best bet is to find an athletic shoe that your orthotic fits into. It seems to me that all athletic shoes are meant to wear out soon… so you will run out and buy another.
