IвЂ™ve been diagnosed with some inflammation in my plantaris tendon (runs from behind the knee down the back of the calf and into the ankle). It’s been causing me calf pain when I run for quite a while now. The doc referred me to a sports med guy, but it might take a while for me to get an appointment. Anyone ever had this injury or know anything about it? While IвЂ™m waiting for the orthopedic guy, should I be icing or heating? IвЂ™ve heard heat for an inflamed tendon might not be a good idea? How about stretching or a compression wrap (not sure if that would limit blood flow and slow healing or provide support and help)? Any other ideas to get this thing healed ASAP???
