poorly anckles

8 months ago I was in a car crash and I took all the impact on the passenger side. my legs were banged about and then they were crushed between the center colum and the door I had x rays and fortunately there were no breaks or fractures, but I couldnt lift them or put any weight on them, A and E sent me away with no help to walk and told me to take pain killers and rest my dad and boyfriend carried me out of the hospital when I finally got to see a physio she said there wasn’t alot she could do gave me some simple exersises, and treated my anckles with 3 sessions of ultra sound and told me that in time the swelling would dissapear and I would regain the range of movement I lost but now it is 8 nearly 9 months on and iv seen very little improvement my anckles are still swollen and painfull I can’t wear high heals as it hurts and I only have to slip trip or suprise my anckles with a movement a wasn’t ready for and I end up in serious pain im getting very deppressed and don’t know where to turn for the best I cannot afford private medical help si there any thing you can advise me to do? have I been treated rightly? and will they ever get better….

I don’t know really how to give you an answer you want to hear. I recommend you see a orthopedist or podiatrist. A MRI might be useful to see what is going on in your ankles.
