popping noise in my neck

Hello, Four months ago I was at an essential oils class and instructor came behind and started massaging my neck hard on both sides. The next morning and for some time after that I experienced vertigo and just plan dizzy feeling when I got up in the night or early in morning. It would subside during the day.
I went to a chiropractor and received a treatment which relieved the dizzy feeling and vertigo but now I have a popping and cracking when I turn my neck.
I have been in twice for this and no relieve as yet.
Will it go away with tretment or will it go away without treatment? Thanks, Margaret

This is rather common. This is a sign of the joints starting to function better. At least it is in my experience. Continued treatment typical takes care of it. It’s joint crepitus. Crepitus is a clinical symptom in medicine that is characterized by a peculiar crackling, crinkly, or grating feeling or sound under the skin, around the lungs, or in the joints. Crepitus in soft tissues is often due to gas, most often air, that has penetrated and infiltrated an area where it should not normally be (for example, in the soft tissues beneath the skin).”Crepitus in a joint can indicate cartilage wear in the joint space. The term “crepitus” is taken directly from the Latin “crepitus” meaning “a crackling sound or rattle.” Typically crepitus is a grinding noise coupled with a sensation in the affected joint. Crepitus can occur with or without pain.”
