Possible torn muscle

I can I tell personally if I tore my quadricep muscle?
I recently tried out for a soccer team without any training for a long period of time. Now, my leg is killing me.
I have pulled a quad before, but I don’t know what stage I am in.
I was wondering if there is anything I can do to find out where I am out.
I have some knowledge of the muscles from Athletic Training classes in college, but not a lot.
If you can help, that would be great. thanks.

    I WAS AT DANCE CLASS IN SCHOOL AND WE HAD TO D THE SPLITS I ALWAYS STRECH BEFORE DOING THEM BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPEND THIS TIME MY UPPER LEG HURT BUT NOT AS IF IT WERE SORE OR SOMETHING BUT DIFFERENT I DONT KNOW IF I TORE A MUSCLE ALL I KNOW IS THAT EVERYTIME I LIFT MY LEG TO A CERTAIN LEVEL OR DO THE SPLITS IT HURTS AND GETS WORST I COULD HARDLY WALK AT THE MOMENT I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO SO THAT MY LEG COULD GET BETTER AGAIN AND I CAN RETURN TO DOING MY EXERCIZES LIKE ALWAYS.

    My quad is torn – I have a dent in my thigh.My question is will the dent go away after themuscle heals. Also, should I be walking withthe torn muscle? Should I wear an ace wrap?How long before I can exercise?
