post core decompression of hip

(3 discussions)

I have avascular nuecrosis in both hips, I had core decompression on one of them.
It’s been 2 years since surgery and the hip isn’t too bad it pops and stuff but nothing too painful.
My problem is calf muscle and the muscle on top of the leg above the knee are still very small.
This causes a lot of pain in my calf or knee due to the way I walk. is there any exercises I can do to help.
My doctor didn’t mention any therapy and now I don’t see him anymore.
Thank you.

How long is the recuperation period after core decompression surgery? Will I be able to walk comfortably, climb stairs, Etc? Is this usually successful for a person with severe rheumatoid arthritis? Thanks

I had core decompression of both hips May 19, 04. I want to know how I should be feeling at this stage of my recovery. I am still in painwhen I walk, sometimes I need crutches and othertimes it is slight pain… It goes back and forth. The first 2 weeks after I got out of the wheel chair after 6 weeks I was fine and then graduallygot worse. What should I expect? I am a healthy 68.
