Quad muscle pain

(4 discussions)

Hello.
I have been having repeated problems injuring my quad muscle. Last season I hurt it almost every game.
Since then, I have been swimming and lifting weights trying to strengthen it.
I haven’t had any problems until yesterday.
I was sprinting, and it just felt like it tore in half (I don’t think it actually did it just felt like it).
Today it felt a little sore, but when I started running the bases it did it again. Now, I can hardly walk and it hurts to touch it. Even sitting here, it is throbbing.
What should I do? Thank you so much for your time.

I have the exact same problem. It seems like I take a week or two off and it feels better; however, as soon as I need to go first to third or sprint at all – OUCH! And then I’m toast again for another couple of weeks. Strething actually seems to agrivate it. HAve you received any answers?????

Can anyone offer me advice, suggestion, or information. I’m a soccer player and just when I thought my quad felt alright, I was in excrutiating pain last night playing. I played the first 90 secs and had to sit out the rest of the game. It felt like my upper quad was on fire and as soon as I run or jump it feels like it’s tearing in half. I’m really looking for info about how to heal it. Rest? more excercise?

I like so many I have read about have a problem when I play soft ball. My quad feels like it is on fire and by the end of the game my leg swells and it stays sore for several days. I have used Ice and the hot tub but this time it is not feeling right. When I lift my leg up behind me bent at the knee It hurts very bad. I can only lift my leg a little. I have been trying to stretch it a little at a time. Should I just let it rest.
