quad x2 pull – rehab
I seem to have pulled the quads in both legs tonight at my softball game.
What is a good rehab plan? How long should I stay away from running.
I work out 4x’s a week or more and am surprised that this happened. Any ideas as to why? Thanks…

It would be rare for you to have actually strained both quad muscles at the same time. More likely, you have some soreness due to a relatively mild strain, like when an athlete increases a training routine too quickly, and gets very sore after the workout. Use ice on the sore areas, 15-20 minutes at a time, three to four times daily for three days. After the third day, you can switch to using moist heat, such as a tub soak, or moist heating pad. Mild stretching (only to the point of pain) is helpful, as is taking Advil three or four times daily for a week. Let us know how to make out.
