question about my orthotics

I just got orthotics for pronating feet, they are made out of hard plastic. I am finding that my feet are still pronating though. Are you’re feet suppose to keep pronating after you get orthotics? I am concerned that these may not be the right prescription for my feet? My podiatrist didn’t use any computers or technology to prescribe them eithier, is that also bad?

When you say you are still pronating, how are you judging this? If you are wearing shoes that are already deformed, it might be difficult to see improvement. If your symptoms are improving then the orthotics are doing the job. As far as your doctor not using impressive hi tech things, keep in mind, that the computer doesn’t see your foot. It takes training to see what is necessary for each individual. Some patients can get by with a pre-fab others need a custom made support. If you are still having problems, please see your doctor.
