I broke my tibia and fibia sept 04 a surgical rod is through my tibia screwed top and bottom no plaster the pain I get in my ankle is unbeareable when I wake is this pain normal.

Well I’ve broken mine and for me initially you loose a lot of strength in your sholder, ie inability to lift things. After a while (so far 3 weeks) I now stilkl have restricted movement, ie at max could make a cup of coffee but not get things from high shelves, no full arm rotation etc. I think if its broken u will feel loss of movement not just centeralised pain.

Excruciating! It burns likes someone stuck a hot poker in there, and possibly chopped you with an axe as well. If it is broken you probably wouldn’t have been able to move your arm very much and there would be a lot of swelling. You also would not be able to sleep very easily.You should still see a doctor. Good luck.
