Recovery after ACL surgery

I had ACL surgery 3 months ago. One month ago my doctor called my PT and yelled that I was not far enough along so my PT started me on lunges.
While doing a lunge, I felt a sharp pain in the front of my knee so I stopped.
I went back to my doctor and now he is mad because he says my knee is too loose.
How do I get my knee to tighten up.
He will not explain to me what I need to do.
Is a burning sensation normal after ACL surgery?
Is it normal for my knee to pop and crack? Also, my PT says not to do the leg presses where you are lying down with feet up.
Why?

  1. I had ACL surgery also and did similar lunges. A follow up MRI shows I retore the ACL and the only way to tighten the knee again is to repeat the surgery. Hope you have better luck. My knee also pops and cracks.

  2. I had ACL surgery nearly four months ago. I did some extra exercise over last weekend and was also foolish enough to try jiving. Now I have a lot of pain on both sides of the front of my knee. Is this normal or have I done some damage? Also for the last three weeks I have had a very tight feeling at the back of the knee and the hamstring tendons really hurt when I try to bend it. I need to kno wif this is normal. should I still be having so much pain after 4 months? : I had ACL surgery also and did similar lunges. My knee also pops and cracks.I am 53 yr old female, I had ACL Patella tendon graft 8 months ago the 1st of June. I am very concerned that it still swells and hurts in the front. It gets very hot and I have taken many Rx’s such as Bextra, Celebrex ect. I am worried that the front will not heal or that I am reacting to the screws. Can they take them out? SD
