removal of plate
Hi! I had surgery about 3 yrs ago for a broken right ankle.There was a plate inserted with 8 pins on the outside of my ankle. My doctor told me that it wasn’t nessesary to remove the plate unless it bothered me… It didn’t, so I never had it removed. I didn’t want to be laid up again. Now, I’m wondering if I made the right decision and is it to late if I do decide to have it removed. thanks!

Hi I broke my wrist about 2 years ago, colle’s fracture and I am on a waiting list to have it remove, the plate has been bothering me, I have problem with movement, and the doctor said that they can’t promise that it will be back to normal, because I might loose sensation in my wrist because of all the nerves, etc… So if you are going to remove the plate in your ankle make sure you have all the information before you decide to do it.
