Rolled ankle, syndesmosis injury.

Hi, about 7 months ago, around December 29, 2011, I have had an injury. I’ve rolled my right ankle, probably tearing the syndesmosis. I was only able to get a cast on my foot 2 weeks after that happen, and I’ve had it for 5 weeks. After that I was only able to go to only 1 session of rehabilition because of financial/insurance reasons. I’ve started playing basketball about 3 month after the injury in an ankle brace, March of 2012. Since then the motioin of my ankle have been limited and I have been having been experiencing pain while excercising and during basketball playin due to some problems with the range of motion of my ankle. For example when I do sit-ups, I start having pain while I’m about half way down. But there doesn’t seem to be pain while I’m stainding on my tippt-toes when my ankle is almost horizontal with my leg. Are there any kinds of excercises that I can do to increase the range of motion of my ankle and to strenghten it? Thanx for ur time!
