Rotor Cuff injury
Hello. I was told I have Rotor cuff damage that needs surgery. Surgery will be scheduled at this week’s appointment. My question is : Is there anything I can do for the pain until I see the doctor? It keeps me up at night and Advil/Aleve don’t help. Does a heat rub like capsazin help?

It might…give it a try, it couldn’t hurt at this point. Ice will give you some short acting relief. If your surgery is weeks away ask your doc if you can go to PT for a one time visit and try some electrical stim or a TENS unit. That’s if you don’t have a pacemaker). Some folks get good pain relief from it. Maybe you can get some well deserved sleep.
