ruptured planter fascia

My daughter recently ruptured her planter fascia in a race and finished the last 1/2 mile, but now they have her in a cast for 6 weeks.
She is still training on a stainary bike in hopes of competing at Nationals in approximately 4 weeks.
If she removes the cast and runs at Nationals her doctor thinks she may not be able to hurt it any worse than she has but we are not so sure of that.
The MRI results showed that the planter fascia was torn from the bone and torn completely in two.
My question is do you think her running at Nationals would add any permanent damage to other parts of her foot and/or render planter fascia repair hopeless?
Thanks for your time.

My personal as well as professional opinion is that she should not attempt to run at 4 weeks post injury. First- she will have been immobilized and will have atrophied somewhat. Second, I do not believe at 4 weeks the tissue will have healed adequately to withstand the force of running.
