: thank you for your time: nichole Is there ever a “normal” day. I am the PT supervisor in an LTAC unit..which means a long term acute care hospital. We have very sick people, many who are on vents. My normal day starts at 7:30 a.m. I check to see if we have any new orders for evals. I then work out the schedule for the day. There are 2 PT’s and 3 PT aides. We then go to the floor, I review the charts for any new doctor orders. We then get to work getting patients up and down to the gym for their 30 minute session. We see anywhere from 12-18 patients in the am and then we see them again in the pm. I also do wound care along with any pre or post op surgery crutch training or education. I do all the ordering for the department and field any questions regarding PT or wound care from the nurses, doctors and occupational therapy. I generaly start note writing about 4-4:30 and my day ends anywhere between 5 or 6 p.m. Sometimes I get to eat lunch, sometimes I don’t. It’s a high energy and stressful environment. But I love what I do. Not all PT’s have a day like mine. So there you have it…a day in the life of this PT. Good luck with your paper. Mya
