seaver’s disease

Is there such a thing as Seaver’s disease?
I can’t seem to find any reference to it on the internet, and I have been told that my son has it.

Seaver’s disease=Calcaneal apophysitis=inflammation of the growth plate of the heel. After the patient’s heel is fully grown (usually around 14) the growth plate fuses with the rest of the calcaneus (heel bone)Treatments can be varied from rest, anti-inflammatory medicine, ice, heel cushions, heel cups, orthotics, stretching and in very severe cases a cast boot. Hope this helps
