Your problem might be able to be solved by something as simple as your doctor sending you to get custom made supports (called orthotics) for your shoes. Please ask your doctor if he would give you a Rx to have these supports made specifically for your individual feet. They often make an immediate, and quite dramatic difference in elderly women. You might also want to bring your usual shoes so that the doctor can check them for wear patterns, and, thus, be able to see how you tend to walk. Let us know if your doctor will do this for you, and good luck.
