Severed Tendon Big Toe
(2 discussions)
Years ago I stepped on glass and severed the tendon in my big toe which allows one to bend the toe.
My toe can now only move up and down.
Is there surgery for this or possibly a good orthodic? Thanks.

If the tendon and muscle have not atrophied (wasted away) then it might be possible. But realistically, it might not function the same as before the injury. It would require therapy to strengthen the muscle and tendon. You need further evaluation and testing.

Thanks for the response. So, if surgery isn’t an option, what can I do to help the pain when I walk? Is there a certain insert?
