Sharp Pain On Left Foot Near Where Foot And Leg Meet

(3 discussions)

Hi,
I’ve had chronic, sharp pain in my left foot for 5 months now.
There is no swelling or discoloration.
It always hurts during the day sitting or standing.
The only relief I get is when I ice it or lie down for awhile.
The pain doesn’t get worse as I walk around.
Is it possible it’s a pinched nerve if an MRI and xray don’t really show anything?
Thanks.

I haven’t seen a neurologist. Also, over the last couple weeks, I’ve noticed red spots on my souls of both feet and appears to be athlete’s foot. I’ve been feeling burning in my ankle and outer feet. Would athlete’s foot cause the burning on my ankle and on top of foot on both feet? Thanks

Yes, but where it is coming from needs to be etermined. Have you seen a neurologist?

If these areas are not affected, then it is not likely. Burning can sometimes be due to a nerve entrapment.
