(6 discussions)
Dear Doctor I have had shine splints for three years now and I was wondering would a bace hurt or help it. The reason is I can take the runing of softball but can’t take the very demanding running of basketball, even after I took aspirin.

I have had shin splints for a year now and it’s been off and on. I was wondering what I could do to prevent them or help them. It’s always on my left leg, and sometimes travels up to my thigh and lower left back. Is there something I can do? It hurts me only when I’m not doing anything like walking, running, or exercising….only when I sit for a while. Can you e-mail me back answers a-s-a-p. THANKS!

I have had shin splints for a few months and well they hurt soo much I m 14 and I really wanna make winter track. The thing is every time we have to do the 15 min warm up the pain is sooo bad I almost cry. What would be the most effective way of getting rid of these cause I don’t wanna give up on my running career, because the coach says I am oone of the best sprinters on the team. ~Jess~
