Sholder Pain

(2 discussions)

Hi,My name is Julio and I play hard ball baseball. About 6 months ago, while playing catcher, I made a hard unbalanced throw to second base and felt I threw my entire arm with the ball as well. For about a minute or two I couldn’t lift my arm an inch. After a few days the pain went away, but now, everytime I play ball and after any agressive throw the pain comes back and I have minimal control of my throwing arm.
I try to lift my arm to the side and I can go to about 1 o’clock before I start feeling pain.
I can slowly lower my arm as well. But, when I try to lift my arm straight ahead, the pain stops me immediatly at 3 o’clock and I can’t lower my arm slowly.
It just falls with intense pain. What do you think the problem is and what do you recommend?

It sounds like you have an impingement in your shoulder. But, could also be a torn rotator cuff. Go see a doctor for sure and see if he will write a script for PT or an ATC for rehab. Good luck.

I would ice contiuually and see a chiropractor for laser or electric shock treatment. The injury should take about 4 to 6 weeks to cure
