Joint Crepitus is what it sounds like. Crepitus is a clinical symptom in that is characterized by a peculiar crackling, crinkly, or grating feeling or sound under the skin, in the joints. Crepitus in a joint can indicate cartilage wear in the joint space. Typically crepitus is a grinding noise coupled with a sensation in the affected joint. Crepitus can occur with or without pain. typically it is the first signs of a degenrative condition (osteo arthritis). The shoulder joint may be becoming unstable. A chiropractor will do tests to determine this and a set of films would also be a good idea. Might just need some stabilization exercises, which the chiropractor will prescribe.

The popping you here could be nothing more than a tendon that is slipping off of it’s attachment. The biceps tendon is a common one. Or you could have a problem with one of the stabilizing muscles of the shoulder, the subscapularis is the main stabilizer of the shoulder. You need to be evaluated by a chiropractor who specializes in orthopedics and/or sports injuries.
