SI joint problems

Doctor I was hurt at work, and my MRI revealed that I have a buldge and a tear on my L4 and L5 vertibray, In may this year, it has been 1year, I still have pain in my lower back radiating down my left leg front and back, I was a very energetic person before this happened, now I’m pretty bumned because of the pain that I have to deal with on a daily bases, the doctor said that it should heal it’s self is this possibe?
