I recently worked at an Applebees when I had a bad slip and fall accident. I was carrying to pitchers in my hands when I slipped and landed on my right hip/buttocks. I did not let go of the pitchers for fear of making a mess and getting fired so all my weight landed on my lower right side/buttocks.Even since highschool, I’m twenty three, I’ve had real lower back problems. I went away for a summer camp where a professor showed up how to pop our backs. I asked whether if it were the right thing to do on an often basis, my professor said that it were fine because all one was doing when doing the spinal twists was releasing tension built up in the spine. I had such back problems that I would “pop” my back four or fice time a day. . . .even as often as three times per class period! I could not sleep because of pain. Since this accident at Applebees, I felt it were a heaven sent incident because the company paid for a chiro visit. I was scared because I was ready to hear that I had irrepairiable damage to my lower back. It got as bad to where where I would do the spinal twists, when I’d twist to the left, a sharp pain would shoot down the right leg and paralyze it. When I’d twist to the left, a sharp pain down the right leg and paralyze it. I would often feel a surge/sensation rise up my spine towards my brain and I would feel this great sensation, I’d sometimes lose my balance because the release of whatever felt so good. It was about four months ago when I visited the chiro and when he took the x-ray of my lower back, I was ready for the worst. He returned with the image and said the was nothing wrong. I was looking at it with him and my spine looked fine. I know what my body tells me and for some reason I could not believe my spine was fine. I started taking more notice of my habits while I am asleep and when I am awake. I do have incorrect posture and have discoverd that I carry the same posture whiles I am asleep as when I am awake. I most often sleep in a fetal postion and I sit as if I am lying in the same postion. What I wonder is, how can I keep something that happens whiles I’m asleep from happeing? I fear that the curvature my spine goes through in my conscious state aswell as my unconscious state is unfixable. Is it all relative? If you have bad posture while your awake, do you also have bad posture while you are asleep? And this is what keeps you in that bad posture molding? If you please, HELP!Daniel MartinezZion, IL
