Sore Toes

Periodically I get red, swollen toes. They are very painful and bumping one on something almost makes me cry. This lasts for three or four weeks and then goes away. Going the weekend without shoes doesn’t help. On the top of them the skins looks blackish underneath. The worst one is the second one, always. There are also little bumps on the joint of the toe that I can feel with my finger. One doctor thought it was athletes foot, and another said isn’t but he didn’t know what it was. My toes are very curved. My doctor thinks I may have some form of arthritis due to pain in other areas and I am waiting to see a rheumatologist. What do you think.

I agree that you need to be seen by a rheumatologist.
