Sprained Ankle

Hey. I sprained my ankle about a month ago I went to the doctor and they told me I had a mild sprain, however I don’t think it has gotten any better. I still have alot of pain and the swelling comes back now and then, I have been doing the ice, elevation,wrapping it. Should I be using crutches? Is there a certain type of brace I should be wearing? What should I do? Please Help!Thanks Missy

    Depending on how active you have been and how long you waited before starting up normal activity after the injury could be a big part in it still hurting. You sound like you are trying to take care of it which is good, however you might try taking a few days to a week off to see if it will heal. I wear braces that lace up then have velcro straps that go up both sides. You might also want to try taping it before activityHope it helps: Thanks : Missy

    Missy, I know what u are going through. I have spent my life with sprained ankles. For the first 2 or so weeks I wear an ACE bandage under an aircast while on cruthces. Then when I can bare pressure I walk on it waring the aircast for the next month or so. If u ever have any questions about seeking care or what kind of doctors to see etc. let me know.
