Strange Hardened lump on Healed Fibula

About a year ago I had a skateboarding accident where I snapped my right distal fibula and tore the ligaments from both ankles. I had to have emergency surgery. A metal plate and five screws were fixed to the fibula to stabalize it. I had 1 week in a half cast, 4 weeks in a fracture cast, and then 6 weeks of physical therapy. After a while everything seemed fine and I’ve been surfing and biking since, until last week I developed a hard lump running along the length of the bone near the bottom of the plate. I don’t know what this is.

You need an X-ray. It may be related to the hardware.
