Stress Fracture
My son is in basic training at Fort Knox and has been pulled from his training twice now due to stress fractures in his foot.
The 10K and 12K marches in his army issue boots seem to be the culprit. They have given him inserts/off the shelf type and have only recently given him some ibuprofen 800mg once daily.
They don’t seem to be healing and is getting quite discouraged.
Any ideas?

Unfortunately, You and I have little control over how the military does things. I understand your concern as a parent. Without seeing the patient, it can be difficult to guess what is needed. Hopefully, the doctors where your son is stationed will take an interest and follow up with him. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help on thisVivian A, DPM
