stubbed toe–is it healing OK?

(2 discussions)

I stubbed my big toe on a car tire about a week ago, and it was bleeding and painful along the nail when the toe was moved (as far as I can tell, it’s still completely attached, though). Bleeding stopped after the first day.
I am able to move the toe freely and put normal pressure on it again, but periodically it oozes a clear liquid, and is still a bit sore at the top of the toe where the nail meets the skin. Does this mean it may be infected, or will the healing process be long since it’s subjected to pressure every time I walk? Also, would sticking to flats instead of heels/platforms be best, to keep pressure at a minimum? Please help. Thanks!

I stubbed my small “pinky” toe on the corner of my bathroom door yesterday. Wow, did that ever hurt! I noticed numbness in the toe and immediately there was swelling. By mid afternoon there was bruising around the toe. I have no problems bending the toe or walking on it. Did I break my toe, do I need to seek medical attention? Thanks!
