subtalur fusion
I have had an ankle fusion for about 15 years. (RT) Recently I have been have severe pain radiating from the incision area up the outside of my calf to my knee. My DR suggested a subtalur fusion, I can not see how this has anything to do with this pain my heel does not hurt. I was thinking perhaps a nerve got encapsulated in scar tissue. Can you explain how the fusion could possibly be of help, or should I seek a second opinion?

Since I can't examine you, I think you should get the answers you need from further examination. If your first doctor can't give you a satisfactory answer, then get another opinion.
