Swelling in left foot and ankle for no reason

During the day I noticed I get severe swelling in my left foot and ankle. This has never happened before, it just started about 7 days ago and usually starts swelling up around 3p.m. daily. There is no pain involved just really bad swelling. My mother suggested that it could be a blood clot, is this true? I have never had any problems like this before. I am 30 years old. Thank You

Realistically, An examination and probably some tests might be indicated before a diagnosis of anything can be made. I recommend you see your primary care specialist first and go from there.

I had a lump on the back of my ankle years ago and doctor was worried about it but it went but has now came back. what could it be? thank you
